New Event for 2017 ?

Busy yet exciting times at MC towers. As we finish up the biggest and best RAT for another year, our thoughts turn to a potential new MudCrew event for 2017. As always, we like to do these things properly, so a lot of discussions ahead but don't worry, if we are doing something new for 2017, you'll be the first to know....

Changes at MudCrew HQ

We’d like to let you all know of a few changes going on behind the scenes at MudCrew. Jo Lake will be leaving us so that she can focus on her expanding and fast paced “day job”. Jo has been with MudCrew since the very start and has played a key role in getting us to where we are today. We’d like to thank Jo for her efforts and to wish her all the very best with her career in the future. We’ll miss you Jo. On a more positive note, we are very pleased to advise that Jane Stephens will be joining the MudCrew HQ team as a full director ...

The Dark 2015

Sorry it may have taken a little while but we wanted to get this one right and have spent the summer checking out a new venue and route that was good enough to put the MudCrew stamp on. We're close now and hope to have more news in the coming weeks with entries opening in November. The Dark 2015 - What lies Beneath ?  ...

Dark Thoughts by Andrew Benham

Dark thoughts

I spent last Saturday running around the woods avoiding the dead and the dying and coming close to death myself, at least it felt that way on occasion.
This was the inaugural appointment with "The Dark", the latest offering from Mud Crew Events - 13 miles or so of running, by head torch, along the Beast of Bodmi...

The Scrooge – More Mud Anyone ?!

The hedonist and her dog

I am a hedonist.  I like the sunshine, I like lovely restaurants, a cheeky glass of bubbles and generally the finer things in life, so I’m not quite sure I’m cut out to be a runner.  Especially a muddy one.  Don’t get me wrong, there is a certain intrinsic sense of achievement that I get on a Sunday morning when I come back plastered and have to strip off in front of the washing machine before I enter the house, but ideally when its wet, cold and windy, I’m the ‘lets hit the gym’ type of girl. The only problem is I have a trai...

Somethings are better shared.

Phew.  Here we are March the 15th 2013… and I’ve been meaning to do this for ages, by that I mean write something for the blog.  I’ve got the same excuses that everyone else has for not doing something they know they should; I’ve run out of time, I’m too tired, I will do it tomorrow… you know the ones, the same you use to talk yourself out of that training run in the rain, or into another glass of wine when you know you really should go to bed. It’s been a really interesting 18 months for MudCrew and the royal ‘...

inov-8, running and MudCrew

Since starting running in 2004 and doing my first ever marathon and race in that year in London, I have continued to notch up many more marathons with the current total standing at 47.  It was at the start 2013 that I looked for something different to set my sights on and entered a ten marathons in ten days event to be staged in Ireland. This was the first time something like this has happened in Ireland and it was as I said, a first for me.  I trained hard for this event, running into work and back which conveniently converted to a distance ...
